MLO Developer

About The Role

The MLO Developer is responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining custom interior environments and map locations for Ghost Modifications. This role focuses on creating high-quality, immersive, and performance-friendly MLOs for FiveM and other supported roleplay platforms.

The MLO Developer works closely with the Development and Executive Teams to turn concepts and ideas into functional, detailed, and visually appealing environments

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom MLO interiors and environments for FiveM
• Create detailed interior layouts, rooms, hallways, offices, businesses, residential properties, emergency-service facilities, and other locations
• Build and modify 3D environments using appropriate modeling and mapping software
• Create and optimize custom textures, materials, props, and environmental assets
• Ensure MLOs are properly optimized for FiveM performance
• Configure collision, lighting, portals, occlusion, and other environmental features
• Create functional doors, elevators, windows, entrances, and interactive areas when required
• Ensure interiors properly integrate with existing GTA V environments
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of MLOs before release
• Identify and correct visual, collision, texture, lighting, and performance issues
• Maintain organized development files and project assets
• Work with Vehicle, EUP, and other Development Teams when projects require multiple development disciplines
• Follow Ghost Modifications development standards and quality-control requirements
• Maintain confidentiality regarding unreleased projects and development assets
• Provide progress updates to Development Leadership
• Assist with revisions and customer-requested changes when assigned
• Ensure completed projects meet Ghost Modifications quality standards before release
• Stay current with FiveM development tools, mapping techniques, and optimization practices
• Qualifications
• Experience creating or modifying MLOs for FiveM
• Strong understanding of GTA V/FiveM mapping and interior development
• Experience with 3D modeling and/or environmental design software
• Knowledge of tools such as Blender, CodeWalker, Sollumz, 3ds Max, or comparable software
• Understanding of GTA V assets, YMAPs, YBNs, YTYPs, YDRs, and related file formats
• Ability to create and work with custom textures and materials
• Understanding of collision and optimization techniques
• Ability to troubleshoot MLO-related issues independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet project deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a development team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to receive feedback and make necessary revisions
• Previous FiveM development experience is strongly preferred
• Portfolio or examples of previous MLO work are preferred

Qualifications

• Experience creating large-scale commercial, government, medical, law-enforcement, or emergency-service interiors
• Experience optimizing MLOs for large FiveM servers
• Experience creating custom props and environmental assets
• Experience with advanced lighting and interior optimization
• Experience working with a development team or modification company
• Knowledge of FiveM resource structure and deployment
• Previous experience developing paid or commissioned MLO projects
